Final Page Designs

Heres the final designs with the links n what not! Home sweet home is created on Image ready with rollovers. Horror stories is designed on Flash.

Sunday 4 November 2007

(i was supposed to publish this a week or so ago)
Here are examples of the rollovers. when u select a particular item on the desk, a block of colour will appear over it which will indicate its value. A chart will be on screen to show its value. the idea behind this is that the game player will score higher points according.

in the first snap, the colours range from a pink to a brighter red. the brighter is a more valuable item. i didnt like this thought because there is no real reason behind these colours. So i looked a poker chips and what value they represent. I know a lot of students like a bit of poker so this bared a bit more relevance!

CHECK LIST!

alright people tomorrow is the last day to shake things up so heres a check list:

me: index - check (need lock sound)
menu - check (need links on the page and the lock icon to take each page back to menu)
survival kit - check (need lock icon)

tom: horror stories -check (need to make in flash and create scroll bars and lock icon
home sweet home - check (need lock icon)

lucy: big brother (need lock icon)

aim for tomorrow!
- place all the pages together
- add links onto the menu to the pages
- add the padlock icon to direct back to the menu
- add sound to certain pages
- affix scroll bar to horror stories

viola!!

Development

Some examples of the rollovers used in the Home Sweet Home game, different receipt style popups show when u rollover certain valuables on the desk. Also a game instruction pops up when u roll over the balance statement. I wasnt sure if this wud be better as a pop up when u click on the Home sweet home link in te home page??

Some ideas development for the game page, getting a feel for how the website works

This will be the link that takes you back to the homepage

Designs

Development shot and final design shot of the horror story page. The final design will be animated on flash so that the cassette reels spin around. These will then be links once the design is placed in dreamweaver. The links will lead to the 2 videos that have been uploaded to Youtube. A small paragraph of text will also be introduced on Flash as a scroll bar.
I would have liked to animte the 'Horror Story' type and perhaps the tape that is linked to the reels but there was not enough time!

Tape

Photos of cassette tape to be part of the design of the Horror Story page

Story Board

A mini story board i did just to experiment with an Image ready gif animation. Heres the images, i chose not to go down this route as i wanted to use the little cut out reels i made. These will be animated on flash.

survival guide final

heres what i produced by seperating each part of the knife in photoshop so it can be rotated and moved in flash and the rest of the body stays the same. With the information i got from tom i couldnt fit it all in one page so i learnt how to make scroll bars and i masked the text so it couldnt be seen till the blade moved past it so it can be revealed.

swiss

i wanted to move away from the survival kit boz idea as i have done this motion of a box hinge opening so after a few scribble i came up with the idea of a swiss army knife and the movement it gives, it also reflects on how they are known for safety and cubs and scouts so i took photos and edited them to look at composition of type and the object itself...

survival guide

started thinking ideas for the survival guide and the first instant thought was a survival kit, to be packed for anything and i guess thats what message we want to convey was to keep prepared for whatever happens.

here i have edited the colour and the items in the kit to suit to the text i got given to by tom about 'surviving' in nottingham and safety consideration on your goods.
video does loop but keep pressing play to get an insight what its meant to do

movie clip?

me and lucy made a animated video of the lamp and sketchbook idea and thinking whether to place it into the basic menu background to create interest...

menu change

with lucys produced background and with the frame i used, we produced a different background which gives depth and mood to the menu. Compared to the illustratored background with the shapes we were unsure if it tied in with the rest of the theme.
heres the new background. too basic anyone?

for the past couple weeks...

apologies for not keeping track on our blog guys,
but i have done some work on flash and being reaquianted to it and done some sketchbook work in the process and this is what the snap shots look like...

the menu was taken inspiration from work from lucy

Cassette Tape
